Marple Care Kindergarteners Take on "Balloons Over MSA"

*Mini Parade Magic: Kindergarteners Create Their Own Balloons!*

This Thanksgiving season, our kindergarteners brought a piece of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to life! After reading "Balloons Over Broadway" by Melissa Sweet, a delightful story about Tony Sarg, the visionary behind the parade’s famous balloons, our young learners were inspired to create their own.

The project began with imagination. Each child designed a balloon, dreaming up colorful, whimsical shapes, and characters. Using art supplies, balloons, and lots of teamwork, the students crafted their creations, transforming their ideas into vibrant mini-parade floats.

To celebrate their hard work, our class hosted its very own parade, complete with music and cheering spectators (fellow students and staff). The joy on their faces as their balloons "floated" around the building was as big as the iconic helium creations that inspired them.

This project blended creativity, storytelling, and community spirit, giving our students a memorable way to connect with history and tradition. We are so proud of their innovative and artistic minds!
