Kindergarten Scientists Take on Their First Big Experiment

Our kindergarten class stepped into the exciting world of science with our very first big experiment—dropping Mentos into different sodas to see what would happen! Before we began, we learned about reactions and made our predictions about which soda would create the biggest explosion. Would it be Coke? Diet Coke? Or maybe something else?

With the help of our spotlight scientist, Mr. Chris, we carefully set up the experiment and then watched in amazement as each soda fizzed, bubbled, and popped. There were squeals of excitement, big smiles, and lots of laughter as the “explosions” shot up into the air.

This hands-on experiment was the perfect way to learn about making observations, testing predictions, and working together as a team. Most of all, it showed us that science is fun, surprising, and full of discovery!
