Kindergarten Class Celebrates Butterfly Release
This week, our kindergarten students had a magical moment as they released the butterflies they’ve been observing and caring for in science class! Over the past few weeks, the young scientists have been studying the life cycle of butterflies—starting with tiny caterpillars, watching them form chrysalises, and finally witnessing their transformation into beautiful Painted Lady butterflies.
Through this hands-on experience, students learned about metamorphosis, responsibility, and the importance of caring for living things. Each day brought new discoveries and excitement as they watched the changes unfold right in their classroom.
The butterfly release took place in the school garden, where students gathered to gently open the habitat and cheer as their butterflies took flight. Some butterflies soared off right away, while others took a moment to rest on little hands and arms—creating a few unforgettable memories.
This special event was not only the culmination of their science unit, but also a beautiful way to connect with nature and celebrate the wonders of growth and change. We are so proud of our scientists!
